Rajasthan Royals (RR) overseas cricketer Jos Buttler welcomed veteran spinner Ravichandran Ashwin, who was roped in the IPL 2022 auction. Ashwin was roped in for INR 5 crore on day 1 in Bengaluru.
Soon after Royals acquired Ashwin’s services prompted talks about an uneasy union of the duo after the controversial ‘Mankading’ incident of 2019. In a video message after his signing, Ravichandran Ashwin remarked that, among other things, he was especially looking forward to sharing the dressing room with Buttler.
In reply, Jos Buttler has come up with a short video message, that was shared on Rajasthan Royals’ social media pages. The English wicket-keeper batsman assured Ravichandran Ashwin that he is ‘inside the crease’, adding that he, too, is raring to share the dressing room.
“Hey Ash, Jos here. Don’t worry, I am inside the crease. Can’t wait to see you in pink for the Royals. Look forward to sharing a dressing room with you. Halla Bol,” Jos Buttler said in the video message.
To Ash, with love 💗

Incidentally, Ravichandran Ashwin, who was with Kings XI Punjab back then, had run Jos Buttler out at the non-striker’s end before delivering the ball. It triggered a lot of debate with Ashwin facing the heat for ‘lack of sportsman spirit.’
