On Thursday, MS Dhoni handed over the CSK captaincy to Ravindra Jadeja. CSK announced on their website that Dhoni has decided not to continue as captain of the franchise and that Jadeja would take over the duties from him.
Now, old tweets of MS Dhoni about Ravindra Jadeja are going viral. Dhoni used to be an avid Twitter user some years ago. It was Dhoni who popularised the title ‘Sir’ for Jadeja. In 2013, Dhoni used to post a lot of tweets hilariously talking about the superpowers of Jadeja. Dhoni also compared Jadeja to Tamil superstar Rajinikanth in one of the tweets, joking that since the actor was getting old, God made Ravindra Jadeja.

MS Dhoni’s stellar record as CSK Captain
Mahendra Singh Dhoni had a fantastic tenure as the captain of the Chennai Super Kings. CSK won 130 of the 213 games in which he was the captain. Win percentage of 61.55 is not something which many captains possess. Chennai has reached the finals in 9 of the 12 seasons they have played. Under Dhoni’s captaincy, CSK won four IPL titles: in 2010, 2011, 2018, and 2021. MSD also won two Champions League (CLT20) titles with the Super Kings, in 2010 and 2014.
Jadeja, who has been a vital component of the Chennai Super Kings since 2012, will be the third player to lead the franchise. Jadeja was the most expensive retention (16 crores) of CSK ahead of the IPL 2022 mega-auctions. On March 26, Chennai Super Kings will face Kolkata Knight Riders in the first match of the IPL 2022 season.
