The fifteenth edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) has been running for about a month now. Due to various reasons, some of the players have withdrawn or have been ruled out of the tournament so far. Few franchises have already signed replacement players, while others are yet to do so.

Gujarat Titans signed Jason Roy for INR 2 Crores in IPL 2022 auctions. However, ahead of the season, Roy pulled out of the tournament due to the extended bio-bubble stay. GT later signed Afghanistan wicketkeeper-batter Rahmanullah Gurbaz as his replacement.

Kolkata Knight Riders signed Alex Hales for INR 1.5 Crores in IPL 2022 auctions. But Hales pulled out of the tournament due to bio-bubble fatigue. Australia’s white-ball captain Aaron Finch joined KKR as Hales’ replacement.

Mark Wood was ruled out of IPL 2022 due to a right elbow injury. He sustained the injury during England’s recent Test series against West Indies. The pacer was bought by Lucknow Super Giants for a whopping INR 7.50 crores in the auction. Australia’s T20 specialist Andrew Tye was roped in by LSG as Wood’s replacement.

RCB’s uncapped wicket-keeper batter Luvnith Sisodia was ruled out of IPL 2022 due to injury. Madhya Pradesh batter Rajat Patidar replaced him in the RCB squad. Young KKR pacer Rasikh Salam has been ruled out of the ongoing season of IPL. He sustained a lower back injury during KKR’s game against Delhi Capitals (DC) on 10th April. Kolkata have signed fast bowler Harshit Rana as his replacement for the rest of IPL 2022.

Adam Milne suffered a hamstring injury in CSK’s opening match of IPL 2022, against KKR. CSK have announced his replacement- 19-year-old, Matheesha Pathirana from Sri Lanka. The youngster will join CSK at the price of INR 20 Lakhs. He is a medium pacer who was a part of Sri Lanka’s U19 World Cup squads in 2020 and 2022. Pathirana’s slingy action closely resembles that of Sri Lankan legend, Lasith Malinga.

Nathan Coulter-Nile (RR) and Deepak Chahar (CSK) have also been ruled out of IPL 2022. The respective franchises are yet to announce their replacements.
