Lasith Malinga is all set to return to the Indian Premier League as the fast bowling coach of the Rajasthan Royals for the 2022 season. The fifteenth edition of the league is all set to begin on March 26 in Maharashtra.
Lasith Malinga is the leading wicket-taker in the Indian Premier League. He has picked up 170 wickets in 122 matches, playing for the Mumbai Indians. The pacer has six four-wicket and one five-wicket haul to his name in the IPL. The Rajasthan Royals took to social media to announce Lasith Malinga’s appointment. Malinga had previously served as the Mumbai Indians as a bowling mentor. Speaking about his appointment as the fast-bowling coach of the Rajasthan Royals, Malinga expressed that he is delighted to return to the Indian Premier League. He added that he is excited to see the Rajasthan Royals’ pace attack, consisting of the likes of Trent Boult, Prasidh Krishna, and Navdeep Saini.
