Watch: Australian All-rounder Hilton Cartwright’s Stunning Catch During Marsh Cup Final

Western Australia defeated New South Wales by 18 runs on Friday to win the Marsh Cup, at the Junction Oval in Melbourne. They bowled New South Wales out for 207 runs while chasing 225.

At one point, New South Wales seemed to be cruising towards victory, with just 22 runs off 36 balls with three wickets remaining. However, Hilton Cartwright’s stunning effort in the field changed the course of the match. In the 44th over, Moises Henriques came down the track to smash, Darcy Short on the very first delivery of the over. Meanwhile, Hilton Cartwright sprinted toward the ball and dived to complete a brilliant catch. The commentators termed it as an incredible catch.

“Oh my god! Look at that by Hilton Cartwright. Under pressure, horizontal. What a catch,” said one of the commentators. “That is an incredible catch. One of the best catches you will see in the Marsh Cup,” said another.

Earlier in the match, Jhye Richardson slammed 44 runs off 64 balls, along with Cameron Bancroft’s 39 runs-knock and cameos from Matthew Kelly and Jason Behenrendoff, which helped Western Australia to set a target of 225 runs. Andrew Tye won the Player of the Match award. He picked four wickets in the innings and only conceded 30 runs at an economy rate of 3.75 runs. Aaron Hardie too played a key role, as he took 3/41 in his eight overs, helping Western Australia lift the title.
