National Cricket Academy coaches Sitanshu Kotak, Sairaj Bahutule and Munish Bali will be a part of the Indian Cricket Team’s support staff for the Ireland tour. The support staff team will be headed by former India cricketer VVS Laxman.

Sitanshu Kotak was part of the India A team’s setup, while Sairaj Bahutule and Munish Bali were part of the 2022 U19 World Cup winning team. On the Ireland tour, Kotak will take the batting coach duties, while Bahutule will be the bowling coach. Munish Bali will look after the fielding department of the team.

Kotak, Bahutule, and Bali will join the Indian team once the senior support staff leaves for England, later this week. The trio will take over the duties for the last few T20I matches against South Africa.

“After the senior support staff departs for the England tour, Bali, Bahutule and Kotak will take over the duties for the remaining T20 against South Africa in Rajkot and Bengaluru.”

“They have already been with the limited-overs squad for a while and by the time the senior support staff leaves for England, they will be ready for the task.”, the official added.

India’s tour of Ireland 2022 begins on June 26

The Indian team will play two T20I matches against Ireland in Malahide later this month. They will depart along with the interim support staff for the tour after the conclusion of the South Africa series. The BCCI is yet to announce the squad for the Ireland tour.

The Ireland tour coincides with the two warm-up matches in England. It will be followed by the fifth (rescheduled) test match between India and England. The test match will take place on July 1 at the Edgbaston in Birmingham.

Schedule for India’s tour of Ireland:

First T20I: Sunday, June 26, Malahide, 8:30 PM

Second T20I: Tuesday, June 28, Malahide, 8:30 PM
