A Nostalgic Moment: Zaheer Khan Reunites with Ashish Nehra and Parthiv Patel Ahead of GT vs LSG Clash in IPL 2025

Cricket fans were treated to a delightful blast from the past as legendary Indian pacer Zaheer Khan reunited with former teammates Ashish Nehra and Parthiv Patel ahead of the highly anticipated IPL 2025 clash between Gujarat Titans (GT) and Lucknow Super Giants (LSG). The heartwarming video captured a candid moment of camaraderie that sent waves of nostalgia through Indian cricket enthusiasts.

A Reunion That Touched Hearts

In the video, Zaheer Khan, one of India’s finest left-arm pacers, is seen warmly greeting GT head coach Ashish Nehra, himself a former pace spearhead for Team India. Adding to the nostalgia was Parthiv Patel, GT’s current batting coach and another former Indian cricketer, who joined in on the reunion.

Their light-hearted exchange, laughter, and visible mutual respect brought back golden memories for fans who’ve followed Indian cricket since the early 2000s. Also spotted in the frame was LSG skipper Rishabh Pant, engaged in cheerful banter with the veterans — a testament to the bridging of cricketing generations.

IPL 2025 So Far: GT and LSG’s Journey

Gujarat Titans and Lucknow Super Giants have leaned heavily on their top-order batters this season—GT by strategic choice, LSG out of necessity. As the two four-season-old franchises face off at Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow on Saturday, the match could come down to which top order delivers the bigger impact.

So far, both teams have found success with their approach. Gujarat Titans have dominated the tournament, securing four wins in five matches to sit comfortably at the top of the points table. Meanwhile, Lucknow Super Giants have had a solid run, losing just two of their five games, keeping themselves in contention for a top-four finish. With both sides relying on their batting firepower, this clash promises to be a battle of the best hitters.

Ekana Pitch speculation for LSG vs GT showdown

The pitch for the match remains uncertain, as ground staff worked on two central wickets while both teams held open net sessions on Friday. Initially, the fifth pitch, made of mixed soil, was uncovered for training, followed by the sixth pitch, composed of black soil, which was later rolled over. By the end of the day, both surfaces were covered again, leaving SRH and PBKS guessing about the conditions for the stadium’s first afternoon game of the season.
