Aakash Chopra reckons that team India needs a little change in their batting line-up ahead of the 4th T20I against England. So far the Indian batting has collectively failed to get going when they have batted first in the series. As a result, England leads the series by 2-1 and are just one win away from clinching the series. Popular commentator Aakash Chopra has suggested some changes that can help team India going ahead in the series.

KL Rahul has miserably failed in the series so far and had scores of 1,0,0 in the three T20Is. Rahul surprisingly has looked completely out of sorts which is why Chopra believes that team India can bat him in the middle order. Aakash Chopra is in favour of opening with the combination of Ishan Kishan and Rohit Sharma. He added that KL Rahul can bat at 4 and this little shuffle will help him regain much-needed batting form.

Aakash Chopra thinks KL Rahul can bat at number 4

“Since Ind is unlikely to field 5 bowlers, how about opening with Rohit-Ishan…Kohli at 3. And Rahul at 4? Dhoni had also pushed Kohli down the order vs WI after that nightmarish tour to Eng in 2014. Sometimes a little change is all you need to regain form. My two cents. #INDvENG”, Aakash Chopra tweeted.

Now, this tweet of Aakash Chopra is highly unexpected as earlier he wasn’t in favour of KL Rahul batting in the middle order even in ODI cricket. Now as KL Rahul hasn’t been scoring runs he is suggesting him to bat at 4 in T20Is when he has been out best batsman in the format in the last 2 years as openers.

Meanwhile, team India at this stage is not expected to go that route and Rahul will most probably open again in the 4th T20I. The Indian side for a better balance can drop a batsman and play an extra bowler which will give them 6 bowling against a potent England batting line-up. The 4th T20I between India and England will be played today at Ahmedabad from 7 PM onwards.
