MS Dhoni Determined To Turnaround CSK’s Fortunes in IPL 2021: Parthiv Patel

Chennai Super Kings skipper MS Dhoni is desperate to turn the fortunes of his team in IPL 2021 feels Parthiv Patel. The left-handed wicketkeeper-batsman has spent a few seasons with CSK and under MS Dhoni. Knowing Dhoni from close quarters, Parthivhas predicted that the CSK skipper is dying to have a good season for CSK. Agin 39, this might well be his last IPL season and the CSK skipper is willing to give it his all. 

MS Dhoni’s CSK finished seventh in IPL 2020. The franchise even missed two of their most senior players Suresh Raina and Harbhajan Singh. While Harbhajan was released ahead of IPL 2021 auctions, Raina was retained. 

Speaking to Star Sports, Parthiv Patel said MS Dhoni would want to set the ball rolling for his side early in the tournament. He further said that good sides know to win early and Dhoni will look to do the same.

MS Dhoni Is Determined To Set CSK’s Ball Rolling: Parthiv Patel

“He (MS Dhoni) had an indifferent season last year but as we saw how keen he is (spoke to him few times) and he is very determined to get CSK’s ball rolling to start with. These are the teams who have done well and they know that once they win the first game or the second game – they can start believing again. So, it won’t take much of time for CSK to start the tournament in a positive manner,” Patel said on Star Sports show Cricket Connected.

Chennai Super Kings bought as many as six players in the IPL 2021 player auction. Moeen Ali seven crores and Krishnappa Gowtham at 9.25 crores were two of their biggest buys in the auction. 

CSK will kick-off their IPL 2021 campaign against the Delhi Capitals, which will be the second game of the season on April 10. They will play five games in Mumbai, four in Delhi, three in Banglore and two in Kolkata. They have already started training at the Chepuk and have been busy with their preparations.
