Former Indian batsman turned commentator Aakash Chopra has been continuing his analysis of the various IPL franchises even after the IPL 2020 is over. In his most recent one, he spoke about three players whom he thinks the franchise should release ahead of the IPL 2021 auction.
He named Ambati Rayudu, Murali Vijay and Kedar Jadhav and explained the reason behind his choices. All three had an ordinary IPL season in the latest edition.
Aakash Chopra spoke about the shortcomings of the franchise in the bygone IPL season. “The Chennai Super Kings had more problems than strengths. This team surely has the experience and the desire and habit of winning and the passion was seen in the end,” Aakash said in a video uploaded on his Facebook page.

He then pointed out poor fielding efforts of these three players which added to the worries of the franchise. CSK were the most aged team that came into the competition and it looked like one till the very end of it.
“They were extremely ordinary while fielding and there were some problems in the bowling as well. Kedar Jadhav, Ambati Rayudu and Murali Vijay not having the same old form was a problem,” he added.
Aakash Chopra said this is the first time that CSK looked to have more problems then solutions. The way they played this season just emphasized Chopra’s verdict.
“I am not able to tell too many strengths, I am telling the problems mostly which are too many. They had one and a half to two dozen problems that they were surrounded with, one after the other” the former Indian batsman highlighted.
He concluded by saying that losing the likes of Suresh Raina and Harbhajan Singh early in the tournament did not work in their favour as well.
