The cricket fans are gearing up for the ICC T20 World Cup 2020 in Australia after coronavirus pandemic cancelled a lot of cricketing actions. India will be desperate to go all out to end their seven-year barren run in the ICC events. Meanwhile, former India cricketer Aakash Chopra has revealed his squad for the mega event scheduled to take place in October.

The cricketer-turned commentator started the squad with Rohit Sharma and KL Rahul as openers. Rohit is currently the second-highest run-scorer in T20 internationals after Virat Kohli. On the other hand, Rahul has been in excellent form in recent past and will peep ahead of Shikhar Dhawan in the squad.

Skipper Virat Kohli, who is the highest run-scorer in the shortest format along with Shreyas Iyer and Rishabh Pant will form the middle-order. Veteran wicket-keeper MS Dhoni, who has been out of action since last July, didn’t find a place in the squad. Aakash Chopra opined that the 38-year-old needs to play some domestic cricket before making a comeback.

Furthermore, Chopra went ahead with three all-rounders in Hardik Pandya, Shivam Dube, and Ravindra Jadeja. Pandya made a scintillating comeback in the DY Patil T20 Cup hitting sixes at will and is raring to go in the Indian jersey. On the other hand, Jadeja has done exceedingly well since making a comeback in the limited-overs and is a go-to man for skipper Virat Kohli.
