It’s time for IPL 2020 as the biggest T20 competition is all set to get underway from September 19. All eyes will be once again set at the popular Royal Challengers Bangalore in the upcoming IPL season. The Virat Kohli led side will be once again after their maiden IPL title in the UAE.

RCB has always faced criticism as far as their team combination is concerned. Every season there’s always a flaw in their line-up because of which they aren’t able to play consistently in the competition and produce positive results. Now ahead of IPL 2020, popular commentator Aakash Chopra tried picking the best playing XI for RCB for this season.

Chopra thinks that RCB should go with the opening combination of experienced Aaron Finch and exciting young batsman Devdutt Padikkal. At the number 3 spot, he wants the run machine and RCB skipper Virat Kohli in the batting line up. Next, he picked AB de Villiers to bat at 4 this year and will also play him as the wicket-keeper for the franchise.

“They should start with Aaron Finch. He is a runaway match-winner in T20 cricket. If he stays till 12-14 overs, he will make the opposition pay. Along with him, I have a wildcard entry in Devdutt Padikkal. That will make it a left-right combination.”

“At No.3, I have got the run machine, Virat Kohli. I don’t want to make him open to lengthen the batting lineup although even if he opens, he will score a lot of runs. But I want him at three. At No.4, I have got AB de Villiers and he will also be my wicket-keeper”, Chopra said in a video shared on his Facebook page.

Meanwhile, the middle-order of RCB has always been under the scanner and in his team, Chopra selected 3 all-rounders. He at no. 5 chose England’s Moeen Ali and at six he wants Shivam Dube to play throughout the season. Chris Morris who was picked by RCB for Rs. 10 crores in the auction will be the finisher in his RCB squad as he will bat at 7 and also bowl 4 overs

He said, “I want to play Moeen Ali who will also give me a few overs. And we need overs because the scales are generally tilted against this bowling team”.

“No.6, I have got Shivam Dube. He is an India player now while last time he was an upcoming player. “After him, I want to play Chris Morris who has been bought after paying a huge amount. So they will have to play him”, Chopra further added.

Meanwhile, as far RCB’s bowling attack is involved the commentator picked 2 trusted spinners and two experienced Indian fast bowlers. Chopra included Washington Sundar and Yuzvendra Chahal as his spinners and concluded the side by picking Navdeep Saini and anyone from Umesh Yadav and Siraj as his pacemen.

“Washington Sundar is at No.8. He also bats and plays for India. He can bowl in the powerplay as well. After him will be Yuzvendra Chahal. I feel he will do well in the UAE.”

“And then I want to play Navdeep Saini, he can do well. Along with him, you can play Umesh Yadav/Siraj”, Chopra said as he picked the ideal playing XI for RCB.
