Former Indian cricketer Aakash Chopra is once again ready with his predictions ahead of IPL 2021 auctions. The various IPL franchises have retained the core group of their squad ahead of the IPL 2021. Royal Challengers Bangalore have released the most number of players (10), while Sunrisers Hyderabad and Kolkata Knight Riders have released the least (5 each).

Meanwhile, in his most recent video, Chopra has spoken about the five most expensive buys in the upcoming auction. Aakash Chopra has taken a few interesting names in the video while discussing the same. He said that teams will go for players like Mitchell Starc and Nathan Coulter Nile in the upcoming auction.

RCB Will Run After Mitchell Starc: Aakash Chopra

While Starc has been skipping the last few IPL seasons to concentrate more on international cricket, Coulter-Nile has not been a hot favorite in the auction. Nathan Coulter-Nile was a part of the Mumbai Indians squad in the last IPL and was released ahead of the auction.

“RCB will run after Mitchell Starc if he is available. They have money, so they can run after him. They can go to 15-19 crores also if they wish to do so,” Chopra was quoted as saying.

He wrote about his predictions on his Twitter handle as well. “Mujeeb to go for 7-8 crore. Green for 5-6 Crore Starc to become the most expensive IPL buy ever. Jamieson to receive solid interest. 5-7 crore Jason Roy 4-6 crore Maxwell and NCN will still get decent contracts. Subject to their availability of course. #EarlyCall #IPL2021″ Chopra wrote on Twitter.

The former Indian player also predicted that with all the talk regarding Glenn Maxwell, franchisees will not go mad behind the Australian all-rounder.

Chopra said that in their quest to look for a specialist overseas middle-order batsmen, teams would look beyond someone like Glenn Maxwell who was released by Kings XI Punjab in the retention window.

The IPL 2021 auction will be held in Chennai on February 18 with teams devising different strategies to fulfill their requirements in the mega-event.
