Veteran India fast bowler Bhuvneshwar Kumar bowled a wicket-maiden in the 19th over to hand Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) a massive win over Mumbai Indians (MI) out of nowhere. He excelled in bowling inch-perfect yorkers, denying MI batters much room and space to hit boundaries.

Reflecting on Bhuvneshwar’s masterclass against Mumbai, former India cricketer Aakash Chopra said that the veteran pacer “showed Bumrah the mirror” when it comes to the art of bowling yorkers.

“Bhuvneshwar Kumar showed Bumrah the mirror – you bowl the yorkers, this is how yorkers are bowled. One after one, precise yorkers, it was like the match was going on in a video game, 19th over wicket maiden,” Chopra said on his YouTube channel.

Bhuvneshwar Kumar returned with figures of 1/26 that helped the Hyderabad franchise keep themselves afloat in the race for the playoffs. Fazalaq Farooqi conceded 15 runs off the final over to help SRH win the game by three runs.

“What has happened to Kane Williamson the captain?” – Aakash Chopra

The cricketer-turned-commentator also questioned the captaincy of Kane Williamson, who didn’t give the ball to young fast bowler Umran Malik for his fourth over, despite picking up three wickets.

“Umran Malik picked up three wickets and then I think what has happened to Kane Williamson the captain? He is not scoring runs with the bat, that is a different thing. Washington Sundar – the 20th over against Andre Russell, Jagadeesha Suchith – 20th over to Andre and here Umran took three wickets in three overs while giving 23 runs and he didn’t bowl his fourth over,” he said.

Sunrisers Hyderabad will play Punjab Kings in their last league game on Sunday at the Wankhede Stadium.
