Former Oman Cricket official Abhishek Shekhawat recently joined the International Cricket Council (ICC) at its participation programmes manager. A young and dynamic individual, Abhishek will lead the participation initiatives of ICC that involve game development, Cricket pathways, participation, training and education programs for coaches.

Abhishek comes with rich experience in this domain having previously worked in India and Oman on similar roles. The ICC took to their official LinkedIn handle to welcome Abhishek Shekhawat to its family.

Sharing a picture of his, they wrote:

“We are excited to welcome our new colleague into the International Cricket Council family. Please meet Abhishek Shekhawat our newest member of the ICC Global Development team! We wish him all the best for his innings at the International Cricket Council. #InningsAtICC #LifeAtICC.”

In his role, Abhishek Shekhawat will be tasked with providing strategic leadership to Members regarding growth in participation. He will also have to design and deliver workforce training programme to ensure a global network of ICC accredited Educators and Trainers are trained and accredited to deliver the ICC Education programme.

Shekhawat will also have to overlook sustainable and accessible Player Pathways Project Management in the ICC. The global body is focused to grow the game of cricket in the world and among its 108 member boards and Abhishek will have responsibility to make it happen by closely working with ICC member nations.
