ACC Emerging Asia Cup Final: [WATCH] Riyan Parag Takes A Brilliant Catch; Video Goes Viral

During the ACC Emerging Asia Cup final, Riyan Parag stunned everyone with a sensational catch to dismiss Pakistan’s Omair Yousuf. Pakistan ‘A’ put up an imposing total of 352/8 against India ‘A’ in the final match of the ACC Men’s Emerging Cup 2023 in Colombo.

Riyan Parag and Rajvardhan Hangargekar were the standout bowlers for India, taking two wickets each while conceding 24 and 48 runs respectively. Harshit Rana, Manav Suthar, and Nishant Sindhu also contributed with one wicket each. Pakistan’s openers, Sahibzada Farhan and Saim Ayub, started steadily, reaching 50 runs without losing any wickets in 8.3 overs.

Once settled, they accelerated their scoring rate to almost seven runs per over, bringing up the 100-run partnership with a massive six by Farhan off Suthar in the 15th over. Ayub reached his half-century in style, elegantly driving Rana to the boundary, and Farhan followed suit in the same over.

However, Suthar made a strong comeback in his second spell, dismissing the well-set Saim Ayub for 59 in the 18th over. Omair Yousuf, who came to the crease after Ayub’s dismissal, showed good form, finding the boundary at regular intervals.

Unfortunately, Farhan was run out in an unfortunate manner, slipping while attempting a single, and India ‘A’ skipper Yash Dhull capitalized on the opportunity to effect the dismissal. Farhan departed after a valuable contribution of 65 runs off 62 balls.

Riyan Parag, displaying his all-round skills, not only showcased his brilliance in the field but also made a significant impact with the ball. He dismissed Omair Yousuf for 35 runs in the 28th over and remarkably got Qasim Akram out for a golden duck on the very next ball.

Pakistan’s innings suffered another setback as they lost Mohammad Haris, known for his quick scoring, to Nishant Sindhu, reducing them to 187/5 in 29 overs. Mubasir Khan and Tayyab Tahir led a spirited recovery for Pakistan, propelling the innings beyond the 200-run mark in the 34th over.

Tayyab Tahir reached his fifty off 42 balls and escalated his scoring in the 40th over by smashing 18 runs off Dodiya, including four boundaries and a six. In an extraordinary display of batting prowess, Tayyab Tahir brought up his century off just 66 balls in the 44th over with a boundary off Suthar.

However, his phenomenal innings came to an end in the 45th over, as Rajvardhan Hangargekar claimed his wicket after Tahir scored an impressive 108 runs off 71 balls. The ACC Emerging Asia Cup final witnessed some breathtaking cricketing moments, with Riyan Parag’s stunning catch standing out as a remarkable highlight.
