Royal Challengers Bangalore received a massive blow on the wee hours of August 31 (Monday) after star fast bowler Kane Richardson pulled out of IPL 2020. Kane and his wife are expecting the arrival of their child and as a result, he will remain with his wife.

With three weeks to go into the tournament, the league has got the much-needed hype. After Chris Woakes and Jason Roy’s pull out, Chennai Super Kings Suresh Raina’s exit created a lot of drama. Reports suggest that he had a rift with the management over hotel rooms and even skipper MS Dhoni couldn’t pacify the situation.

The fast bowler from Kane Richardson also decided to make himself unavailable for IPL 2020. The tall and lanky fast bowler decided to remain with his wife in this period. Royal Challengers Bangalore wished the couple all the luck for their future.

“The RCB family is excited for Kane and his wife who are expecting the birth of their first child and respect his decision to pull out of the tournament,” Bangalore wrote in a tweet.

Moreover, the Virat Kohli-led franchise announced leg-spinner Adam Zampa as his replacement. The Aussie leg-spinner will come in handy in the slow pitches of UAE and the Bangalore camp played a smart move in roping in a spinner.

 

Meanwhile, the addition of Adam Zampa will strengthen Bangalore’s spin department with already have the likes of Yuzvendra Chahal, Washington Sundar, and Shahbaz Ahmed. Zampa has enjoyed a good run in the IPL is at the third spot in the list of best bowling spells in the tournament.

He had scalped 6 for 19 while playing for Rising Pune Supergiant against Sunrisers Hyderabad in 2016. Overall, Zampa has claimed 19 wickets in 11 matches at an average of 14.63.
