Delhi Capitals’ player Tim Seifert has tested positive for COVID-19 after a Rapid Antigen Test conducted on Wednesday afternoon. This is the sixth COVID case in the DC camp. Earlier, Australian all-rounder Mitchell Marsh and team physio Patrick Farhart had also tested positive.

Delhi Capitals are scheduled to face Punjab Kings today evening at Brabourne Stadium, Mumbai. According to The Indian Express reports, BCCI has stated that the match will be played with the players whose results come negative. BCCI has arranged door-to-door testing for the players.

According to reports, Punjab Kings have already left their team hotel and are on their way to the ground. The DC vs PBKS clash was earlier scheduled to be played at Pune’s MCA Stadium, but was moved to Brabourne Stadium on Tuesday to avoid any further transmission of the virus.

When Tim Seifert Broke down in tears talking about his COVID experience in India

Tim Seifert was a part of Kolkata Knight Riders in the last season of IPL. He had tested positive for COVID few days after IPL 2021 (India leg) was suspended. India was hit by a massive second wave of COVID, with the surge in cases leading to a shortage of beds and oxygen in hospitals across the country.

Seifert could not leave India with other Kiwi cricketers as he returned a positive test just 24 hours before leaving the country. After finally reaching New Zealand 2 weeks later, Seifert had got emotional while recalling his experience in India. Seifert told the ‘New Zealand Herald’:

“I got pulled aside and told I’d tested positive and my heart sank straight away when everyone left. I was the only overseas player basically still left in India out of the whole tournament. That’s when things got a little bit real. The world stops a little bit, I just couldn’t really think what was next and that’s the scary part of it you hear about the bad things, and I thought that was going to happen to me.”
