When it comes to the longest format of the game, India has never been short of producing specialists. If it was Rahul Dravid and Laxman in the past, Pujara and Ajinkya Rahane have been doing the formalities right now.
Their presence in the test side has strengthened the Indian side to cement the number one spot. Ajinkya Rahane was also one of the most reliable batsmen in the limited overs. However, he is not now a part of it but many term him as a soldier waiting to serve the nation.
As the Indian side is gearing up for the world cup, Ajinkya Rahane himself has taken a NOC from the BCCI regarding his participation in the county cricket. Ajinkya signed up with the Hampshire side and is all set to represent them in the opening game this season.

Ajinkya Rahane will play eight matches through May, June and July. Reports suggest that he will be a part of playing XI in the first game against Nottinghamshire on May 20th.
This is indeed an advantage to get a better practice ahead of the test championship scheduled to begin this year.
Excited to play for @hantscricket. Hope for a good season with them and would also like to thank @UKperfectsmile & @ZestigeHealth for their efforts.
