The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 closing ceremony will go on tonight, before the grand finale of the tournament between Gujarat Titans (GT) and Rajasthan Royals (RR) kicks off. After an extensive period, followers of the game will see a splendid ceremony featuring several Bollywood personalities.

Hardik Pandya led GT to introduce themselves in the finals after the Qualifier 1 thriller against RR. Royals, meanwhile, after losing the Qualifier 1 faced Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in the Qualifier 2 and recorded their second appearance in the finals since 2008, the year tournament commenced.

Besides, over 1, 00,000 spectators are expected to show up for this contest at the Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad, but before the game, there will be the closing ceremony. In its first decade, there were routine opening and closing ceremonies in the IPL with Bollywood celebrities.

Although, it was suspended for three years under the outcome of the Supreme Court-appointed Committee of Administrators (CoA) decree, which, the existing management obeyed for the first two years. This year too, there was no opening ceremony on March 26, the day IPL started. The decision of assembling the closing ceremony arose later from the Apex Council meeting.

The ceremony will start just before the final derby, on Sunday, May 29, tonight. The venue is the world’s largest cricket stadium, Ahmedabad’s Narendra Modi Stadium.

At what time will the IPL 2022 closing ceremony get going?

The closing ceremony will start at 6:30 PM IST, although the official broadcaster Star Sports will set up its reporting at 6:00 PM IST. The ceremony will go on for an hour. The toss will be held at 7:30 PM IST and the match will start at 8:00 PM IST, 30 minutes after the toss.

The luxurious ceremony will feature more than a few well-liked celebrities from Bollywood such as Ranveer Singh, Urvashi Rautela, Academy Award-winning musician AR Rahman, and singer Neeti Mohan. Furthermore, actor Aamir Khan will launch the trailer of his upcoming film Laal Singh Chaddha, during the occasion.

With Bollywood and cricket coming together once again, it’s certainly going to be a super hit Sunday night, for the fans. It’s going to be a nerve-wracking contest between RR and GT, both being up for the title fight, as IPL is set to get a new champion after years.
