Veteran India leg spinner Amit Mishra made a careless mistake on social media wherein in his tweet he congratulated New Zealand instead of Australia after winning their first-ever ICC T20 World Cup.
Amit Misra tagged the New Zealand’s team official handle and congratulated them on their victory. By the time, he realised his mistake the tweet had gone viral.
“Congratulations team @BLACKCAPS on winning the World Cup Trophy. Great team effort. Very well played. #NZvsAUS #T20WorldCupFinal #AajTak #DelhiCapitals #BCCI T20WorldCup,” his old tweet read.
Later the spinner corrected his mistake and deleted the tweet. Meanwhile, in his corrected tweet he only replaced @BLACKCAPS with the correct team handle @CricketAus.
Congratulations team @CricketAus on winning the World Cup 🏆. Great team effort. Very well played. #NZvsAUS #T20WorldCupFinal #AajTak #DelhiCapitals #BCCI #T20WorldCup

Coming to the final between Australia and New Zealand, the blackcaps putting into bat first, they put up a total of 172 in their 20 overs. Their skipper Kane Williamson played extraordinary innings of 85 from 48 balls to take his team to a decent total. Other batters, did pitch in with merge scores of 18 and 20.
One of the drawbacks of Australia’s bowling was Mitchal stark their most experienced bowler finishing his spell of figures with 4-0-60-0 and with an economy of 15.00 per over. He was smashed all over the park by Kane Willionsom after Josh Hazelwood dropped a sitter of a catch in the deep when Willionsom was on 15 runs.
“Its unbelievable” – Aaron Finch on Australia T20 World Cup victory
Australia on the other hand got to a flying start despite losing their skipper Aaron Finch early in their innings. Half-centuries from David Warner and Mitchell Marsh set the tone for Australia to lift their maiden T20 World Cup trophy.
“I don’t really have words, what an amazing six weeks with this group. Love them to death. World champs. The coaching staff came up to me in the West Indies and said you’re going to bat three for this tournament, and I jumped at it,” Marsh said after receiving his award at the post-match presentation.
“Have the staff to thank for backing me and getting me up the top there. Not a whole lot of thinking goes into it (hitting the first ball for six). Wanted to have a presence, be in the contest, go out there and play my game. It’s unbelievable,” he added.
