Carribean Premier League, CPL 2019 auction is all set to take place on 22nd May in London. The players who are available for the league have submitted their names and a final player draft is given to each of six franchises.  Record 536 players have been drafted from 20 countries into the CPL this year.

On this record turnout, here is what Hero CPL Tournament Operations Director, Micheal Halls said: “The fact that so many players have registered for our draft is a testament to the stature of our league. Playing cricket in the Caribbean is something that all players look forward to, and the CPL combines that allure with a high standard of cricket. We expect that this year’s tournament will be no different.” – (as taken from the CPL website)

Of all the players, Irfan Pathan has become the first Indian male player to draft his name in CPL T20. If selected, he will become the first Indian male to feature in a major overseas T20 league. The 34-year-old who hasn’t played last 2 seasons of IPL, is now hoping to play at the Carribean.
