Mumbai Indians have produced another thorough effort to put Rajasthan Royals out of the game at the Sheikh Zayed Stadium. Meanwhile, substitute fielder Anukul Roy grabbed one of a heck of a catch running back to dismiss Mahipal Lomror as Mumbai cruised to victory.

Chasing a massive total of 194 runs, Rajasthan Royals never looked on course to chase down the target. Trent Boult drew the first blood while Jasprit Bumrah removed the all-important Steve Smith from the other end. Mumbai Indians built on more pressure picking wickets at regular intervals.

Rajasthan Royals were 12 for three at one stage with Smith, Yashasvi Jaiswal, and Sanju Samson back in the hut. All eyes were on last match’s star performer Mahipal Lomror to play a big knock alongside Jos Buttler. They added 30 runs for the second wicket before Lomror went for a big heave against leg-spinner Rahul Chahar.

Anukul Roy takes the catch of the season

The ball sliced off a thick outside edge as Mahipal Lomror tried to go leg-side against a googly from Chahar. It went up and behind Roy at short cover. Anukul Royal went back with eyes on the ball which is going further and further away, but he races after it and dives with both hands, parallel to the ground to complete the catch.

He probably won’t get a chance to showcase his left-arm spin this season of IPL, but Anukul Roy pulled off a blinder as a substitute fielder. He once again proved how to make contributions as 12th man

Mumbai Indians continued the pressure to keep Rajasthan Royals under check. The bowlers were of absolute top-class to take the game away from the Steve Smith-led side. Jasprit Bumrah and Trent Boult were of top-notch picking three and two wickets respectively.
