Kyle Mayers, the West Indies all-rounder, believes that while both Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma are cricket superstars for India and have been winning games almost single-handedly for over a decade, he considers Kohli’s wicket to be more valuable. Mayers elaborated on the immense dominance of the former Indian captain across all formats, which consequently makes him an incredibly significant wicket for any bowler.
Kyle Mayers on the importance of Virat Kohli’s versus Rohit Sharma’s wicket. In a video shared by FanCode on Twitter, Mayers expressed his thoughts about Kohli as follows:
“I think Kohli (wicket would be more precious than Rohit’s). Any bowler would want to dismiss Kohli, the best player across all three formats.”

Kyle Mayers shares his views on Virat Kohli’s aggression
Over the years, Virat Kohli has never hesitated to show his emotions on the field, wearing his heart on his sleeves. In the 2023 IPL season, Kyle Mayers was observed engaging in a lively conversation with Kohli after the match between the Lucknow Super Giants and the Royal Challengers Bangalore.
Mayers stated that the banter and aggression between players, including Kohli, are all in good spirits and aimed at achieving victory for their teams. He stated:
“It great. I think you need to take a chance to get at the opposition, anything you can possible get out of the game. Being aggressive and having courage shows the willingness to get your team across the line.”
Mayers was dismissed by Yuzvendra Chahal in the first T20I but made a crucial impact in the second innings by getting Sanju Samson out with a brilliant direct hit. After securing victory in the first T20I, the hosts aim to maintain their momentum for the upcoming second T20I scheduled on Sunday, August 6.
