The upcoming Ashes will be starting from 16th June 2023 as the hosts are ready to welcome the present World Test Champion. It would be an interesting match for the cricketing fans.

The ECB decided that a change was required several months later. Chris Silverwood, the team’s coach, was fired, and Joe Root resigned as captain, ushering in the new. Brendon McCullum was hired as the team’s coach, and Ben Stokes was named the Test captain.

In the intervening year, England has triumphed in style, winning 11 of the 13 Test matches. Fans, commentators, and most importantly the players have all taken to “Bazball” with gusto. Stokes leads all England captains in the format with the highest win percentage (79%) among Test captains (minimum of 10 games).

But Bazball’s biggest obstacle comes from Australia, which is now the top-ranked Test team in the world after defeating India in the ICC World Test Championship. Australia is attempting to win the Ashes for the fourth consecutive series.

The series moves on to Lord’s, Headingley, Old Trafford, and finally The Oval after starting at Edgbaston on Friday. Will the Australians keep the urn once more, or can England finally win it back?

Let’s look at the top 3 Batters who can score the most runs

1. Steve Smith

Steve Smith displayed sheer domination in the final of the World Test Championship 2023 by playing a classic inning. He is the only fourth Australian batter and the 17th overall batter to reach 9,000 runs in men’s Test cricket, Smith (8,947) is 53 runs away from becoming that record.
