Stuart Broad, James Anderson’s long-time new-ball partner, expects a big performance from the pacer in the upcoming match. England is trailing 2-1 in the five-match Test series. They lost the first two Test matches, but have made a good comeback in the series. They defeated Australia by three wickets at Headingley, Leeds.

“At Lord’s, we had six of the best bowlers in the world bowling cross-seam bouncers. It tells you all you need to know about what the pitch was offering from a good length,” Broad wrote in his Mail on Sunday column.

“But Jimmy has been one of the world’s best bowlers for a long time and he can put those issues behind him. He’s bowled goodness knows how many overs at Old Trafford and I’m expecting a big performance from him in a high-pressure game,” he added.
