Ashes 2023: [WATCH] Joe Root Pulls Off An Incredible One-Handed Catch To Dismiss Marnus Labuschagne

England cricketer Joe Root is one of the best slip fielders in world cricket at the moment. He has pulled off several breathtaking catches in the slip cordon for England. He produced another stunner during the fifth and final test against Australia to dismiss Marnus Labuschagne in the 2023 Ashes series on Friday, July 28 at the Kennington Oval in London.

In the forty-third over of the Australian first-innings, Mark Wood bowled a short-of-length delivery outside off-stump. Marnus Labuschagne was caught in the crease and edged the ball. It flew between Joe Root, who was at first slip and wicket-keeper Jonny Bairstow. Bairstow stayed put in his position as the ball was closer to Joe Root.

Root was a little late to react, however, he was alert. The England fielder stuck his left hand out to grab a one-handed stunner. Labuschagne’s patient knock came to an end with Joe Root’s outstanding effort. He was dismissed for nine runs off 82 deliveries, as England lost their second wicket with 91 runs on the board.
