AUS W vs SA W: [WATCH]- Umpire Embarrassed As She Correctly Calls LBW But Signals Incorrectly After DRS

In the second ODI of the Australia vs. South Africa series, there was a comical incident featuring on-field umpire Claire Polosak. Initially, she correctly deemed batter Sune Luus not out on the final ball of the 24th over.

Despite the Aussies opting for a review, the on-field decision stood, confirming the ball struck Luus outside the line of the off-stump during her attempted sweep shot. However, when the third umpire advised Polosak to uphold her initial decision, she mistakenly signaled Luus as out.

Claire Polosak quickly acknowledged her mistake, signaling not-out and offering an apology for the error. Australian fielders Alana King and Ashleigh Gardner shared a laugh as they observed the umpire’s blunder.

The umpire felt awkward when, in the Australia vs. South Africa women’s match, they got the LBW call right with DRS but accidentally showed the wrong signal. You can watch the video here:

Gardner managed to claim Luus’ wicket in the following over, with the former South African captain exiting after scoring only 19 runs off 33 balls.

Australia continues to dominate and maintain control

Australia has the opportunity to secure the ODI series with a 2-0 lead after their victory in the first ODI against South Africa. As of now, the hosts are in control of the game, with South Africa losing wickets consistently.

Tazmin Brits (21), Anneke Bosch (44), and Sune Luus (19) all made starts but failed to convert them into substantial scores. The responsibility once again falls on Marizanne Kapp (35*) to guide her team to a respectable total.

Kapp is currently partnered with Nadine de Klerk, and explosive batter Chloe Tryon is yet to bat. With the score at 136/4 and more than 20 overs remaining, South Africa needs a partnership to set the stage for a dynamic finish.
