Virat Kohli is the most important wicket that the Australian bowlers will be after in the upcoming series. He will be playing the entire limited-overs leg of the series. However, Kohli will return after the first Test to be with Anuska Sharma for the birth of their first child. Meanwhile, his former RCB teammate Marcus Stoinis has said that Australians are ready with plans to limit the Indian skipper.

Speaking about the team’s preparations ahead of the series, Stoinis highlighted how the entire team is waiting for the series to begin. Also, he revealed that his teammates are ready to fight it out against Virat Kohli.

“We’ve definitely got our strategies, we’ve had things that have worked in the past, and at other times the same plans haven’t worked and he’s made some runs. Obviously, he (Kohli) is a great player, and to all these good players, you do what you want to do, you have your plans, and on the day, you get extra competitive and you hope it all falls in your side of the court” said Stoinis to Cricinfo.

Virat Kohli Will Play With Extra Motivation: Marcus Stoinis

He further said that Virat Kohli will be supercharged and ready for the series to begin. That he will be playing only one Test match will make him more confident to perform feels Stoinis.

“Don’t worry about Virat. He is up for every single game that he’s playing. Yeah, maybe there will be extra motivation, but I don’t think there’s any extra motivation than 110 percent. So let’s see. I am sure he (Kohli) will be ready to go. He is getting home for the birth of his kid, which is the right decision in my opinion. So I am sure he will be extra motivated,” he added.

Marcus Stoinis had a good all-round IPL season with Delhi Capitals in IPL 2020. He scored 352 runs in 17 matches and picked up 13 wickets.
