I think they’re frustrated that it keeps popping up but I think that’s part and parcel for everyone who played in that test match. “Their mood was fine, I think they’ve spoken to (Bancroft), cleared the air there and I think everyone’s looking forward to moving on. We’re all grown men and those guys have made contact with each other and sorted it out,” Paine told reporters in Hobart.

Cricket Australia has assured that they will be reinvestigating the entire case after Bancroft’s fresh revelations. on the other hand, the Australian pacers have put out a joint statement denying their involvement in the scandal.

“To The Australian Public, We pride ourselves on our honesty. So it’s been disappointing to see that our integrity has been questioned by some journalists and past players in recent days regarding the Cape Town Test of 2018,” the bowling pack said in a statement.

“We have already answered questions many times on this issue, but we feel compelled to put the key facts on the record again: We did not know a foreign substance was taken onto the field to alter the condition of the ball until we saw the images on the big screen at Newlands.

We respectfully request an end to the rumor-mongering and innuendo. It has gone on too long and it is time to move on,” the statement added.

Meanwhile, Australia have a tough summer lined up with Tim Paine’s Australia hosting England for an Ashes Series which follows a limited-overs series against New Zealand and Sri Lanka.
