Cricket Australia has asked Cameron Bancroft to come up with any new information regarding the ball-tampering scandal after his fresh revelations on the same. He said that the bowlers were aware of the scandal as the various sources across Australian media quoted him saying so. Bancroft’s new revelations has put the Australian cricket fraternity in shock as to what new findings can be done in this case.

Cameron Bancroft was among three players (along with Steven Smith, the then Australia captain and David Warner, the then vice-captain), to receive lengthy sanctions for their role in the ball-tampering saga.

The 28-year-old, who is currently in England playing for Durham in the County Championship, spoke to The Guardian on Saturday (May 15th) saying, “Yeah, look, all I wanted to do was to be responsible and accountable for my own actions and part. Yeah, obviously what I did benefits bowlers and the awareness around that, probably, is self-explanatory.”

Ben Olivier, CA’s Executive General Manager of National Teams, confirmed earlier today that the board has spoken with Bancroft and has asked him to help with any new information from the 2018 case.

“There was obviously a thorough investigation into that incident. We’ve maintained all the way through that if anyone has any new information relating to that incident that we encourage people to come forward and discuss that with Cricket Australia” Olivier said, in an online media conference on Monday morning.

Meanwhile, Oliver further said that Bancroft is yet to get back to them given the difference in timings between Australia and the UK, where Bancroft is currently playing country cricket for Durham.
