Following his victory at the WTC, David Warner is optimistic about the future
David Warner told Channel 7 that the team’s locker room was humming after the win.
He claimed that Travis Head’s capacity to make plays right away highlights Australia’s future player pool.
The locker rooms are bustling. The fact that Australian cricket is in capable hands makes us the happiest people in the world, and that is what we have always worked toward.
“We must watch out that we don’t expose ourselves and that we have talent there. You examine the music being played by (Head). The only thing he’s doing is backing himself to play shots from the opening ball.”
With a first-inning score of 43, including four boundaries in one over against Umesh Yadav. Warner appeared to be in good form for the WTC final.
Despite his failure in the second innings, he has most likely locked up a spot in the first Ashes Test.

David Warner said, “We knew the two guys out there were the two key wickets.”
David Warner added that Australia was confident they could remove Virat Kohli by asking for the drive outside of the stumps. The left-handed batter stated:
“We knew the two key wickets were the two guys out there, and Scotty Boland, what an amazing talent he is, but some plans didn’t go as planned on Day 4 so we came out here to regroup.”
“He has been pounding on the door of Shield cricket for so many years. Kohli was eager to go for a drive. So we knew if we could just hang on a little longer.”
Prior to Steve Smith’s stunning strike off the bowling of Scott Boland, Kohli started the day on 44 runs. He could only add five runs to his overnight total.
