One of Cricket Australia’s broadcast partner Channel Seven presenter James Brayshaw made an embarrassing mess up during day 3’s coverage of the 3rd Test between India and Australia which is currently underway at the Sydney Cricket Ground. Brayshaw introduced Sunil Gavaskar in the commentary box by mistakenly calling him Sachin Tendulkar.
Incidentally, Australia have taken a firm grip on the ongoing Test match after restricting India to 244 runs; thus securing a 94-run lead. The hosts extended the gap as Marnus Labuschagne and Steve Smith once again look in the scheme of things. Labuschagne, who missed his century in the last innings by nine runs is at 47 runs while Smith finds himself in the mix of things with an unbeaten 29 runs after a magical century in the first essay.

Channel 7 Presenter’s Goof Up With Sunil Gavaskar
During Channel 7’s coverage of the ongoing Test, Presenter James Brayshaw made an absolute blunder when he welcomed Sunil Gavaskar in the commentary box by mistakenly calling him Sachin Tendulkar. Damien Fleming who was in the commentary box was quick to react and correct the howler as he sarcastically questioned Brayshaw if Tendulkar is in the commentary box.
Brayshaw quite embarrassed apologized to Sunil Gavaskar right away and in return, the little master said that he was flattered to be called Sachin Tendulkar. The presenter in question said he mistakenly called him Tendulkar since they were just talking about the Master Blaster.
Brayshaw: “Sachin Tendulkar, welcome, and also Damien Fleming.”
Fleming: “Sachin Tendulkar’s in the commentary box?”
Brayshaw: “We were just talking about him.”
Fleming: “[This is] the great man, the little master.”
Brayshaw: “My apologies Sunil, we were just talking…”
Gavaskar: “I am flattered, I am flattered to be called Sachin Tendulkar.”
Brayshaw: “We were just talking about him a second ago.”

Watch:
I don’t mind James Brayshaw as an AFL commentator but as for cricket, he is very ordinary.
This clip is truly embarrassing.

Though the blunder was unintentional from James Brayshaw, it didn’t really go down too well with the viewers. Few of them went on to Tweet the mistake as pretty ordinary as how could someone mistook someone’s identity who’s sitting right next to the person.
James Brayshaw just called Indian cricketing great Sunil Gavaskar Sachin Tendulkar to his face … how embarrassing
