The Royal Challengers Bangalore vs Sunrisers Hyderabad was always expected to be a close affair given the quality of players both sides possess. David Warner won the toss and put Virat Kohli’s side to bat first on a wicket that hadn’t changed much from the last game. RCB openers Devdutt Padikkal and Aaron Finch were off to a flying start as they nudged 53 runs in the powerplay.

The RCB side batting first put up a target of 164 runs all courtesy of Devdutt Padikkal‘s blistering knock of 56 runs off 39 deliveries. In addition to Padikkal’s knock, Ab De Villiers also played a 51 run knock. Post this Sunrisers Hyderabad lost their captain David Warner at the beginning of the innings in a very unfortunate fashion. But it was Johnny Bairstow who took the charge as he surpassed his fifty in no time.

“When I bowled my first over, I realized I need to bowl stump-to-stump line and backed myself. At one point they were batting well and I was trying to bowl loopy ones and wide of the reach which helped in building pressure.”

Chahal also revealed his game against Bairstow and Vijay Shankar as he picked their wickets on back to back deliveries. He revealed how Virat Kohli and Ab De Villiers asked Chahal to bowl a googly to Shankar and very evidently it worked for them.

“When I bowled to Pandey I was trying to outside off-stump and with Bairstow, I bowled little fuller and when Vijay came Virat and AB told me to go for a googly and it worked. I put some mud on my hands to make sure there is no dew and really brilliant.”

Now in Tomorrow’s encounter, Rajasthan Royals take on the Chennai Super Kings at the iconic Sharjah Cricket Stadium in the 4th match of the 2020 IPL.
