Sachin Tendulkar commented a sweet message on the picture for his former opening partner Virender Sehwag. Tendulkar quoted the lines of a famous Hindi song written by Anand Bakshi from the movie Namak Haram. He wrote:

“🪔 jaltey hai 🌸 khiltey hai,
badi mushkil se magar duniya me tum jaise dost miltey hai… 😊”

I used to watch Sachin Tendulkar bat and copy him: Virender Sehwag

Recently at a function, Virender Sehwag revealed how he learned the straight drive by just watching Sachin Tendulkar on the television. Sehwag said, ” I started watching the cricket from the 1992 World Cup and at that time used to watch (Sachin) Tendulkar and copy him. How he plays the straight drives, how he plays the back-foot punch.”

Sachin Tendulkar and Virender Sehwag’s pair has scored 5964 International runs across formats in 138 matches, including 17 hundred run stands. Their highest partnership stand came against Pakistan at Multan in 2004, when they hammered the Pakistan bowlers and put together 336 runs.

The duo last batted together in the Road Safety World Series 2020-21 for the India Legends. Playing in the finals against West Indies legends, Tendulkar and Sehwag scored 83 runs for the first wicket stand.
