The BCCI will call the apex meeting to decide India’s jersey sponsor BJYUS and star media payment rights on 9 January 2023. BCCI meeting held last month had asked edtech majors to continue at least March 2023, but BJUYS wanted to withdraw its agreement with the board. The company announced plans to lay not more than five percent of its total strength of 50000.
BJYUS extended its jersey sponsorship agreement till November 2023 in June last year for an estimated price of USD 35 million. Oppo replaced the Indian team logo in 2019.
The other discussion point on the meeting agenda is the star media payment rights. Star is currently the holder of media rights for India’s cricket home season. The rights will come up for renewal after March 2023.

BCCI sold the IPL rights for the 2023-2027 cycle for a whopping Rs 48390 Crore last year. Star has currently featured the T20I series between India and Sri Lanka. They will also show packed home season 3 ODI matches against Sri Lanka, 3 T20I and 3 ODI matches against New Zealand, Tri-nation series between Indian Women, South African women, and West Indies women.
