Chairman of the senior selection committee of Indian men’s cricket, Chetan Sharma has reportedly resigned from his post on Friday after a sting operation by a TV news channel went viral where he shared some shocking information about the team and selection process as well. And, according to the news agency ANI, he has sent his resignation to BCCI Secretary Jay Shah who accepted it.

However, the resignation came after a sting operation surfaced where he said that former India captain Virat Kohli tried to defame the former BCCI president Sourav Ganguly because he felt the veteran was responsible for him losing his ODI captaincy as well.

Notably, in September 2021, Virat Kohli announced his decision to step down as T20 captain after the T20 World Cup in Dubai after which the BCCI sacked him from ODI captaincy in December too as well and named Rohit Sharma as the white-ball captain.
