The outbreak of the pandemic coronavirus had a toll on all the sporting activities across the globe including the Indian Premier League (IPL). The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) had to postpone the league until April 15 which was scheduled to commence from March 29. But with no signs of improvement, they have postponed for an indefinite period.

There have been a lot of reports going around on the fate of the cash-rich league. Earlier, it was noted that BCCI might take a call after April 14 when the lockdown gets over. But with the lockdown to continue for two more weeks as declared by the Central Government, this is ruled out and the governing body might take some more time to decide to future of IPL 2020.
