Before the game even started, a pre-match display on the big screen named Chennai Super Kings the runners-up, which sparked a commotion among the crowd.
“RUNNER UP CHENNAI SUPER KINGS” was written in text on the screen.
The nature of the display perplexed a number of fans, who took to Twitter to Tweet their suppositions, worries, and opinions. Perhaps it was screen testing, or perhaps not.
One supporter even went so far as to doubt the validity of the outcome that was still being decided.

Ambati Rayudu, a seasoned batsman for the Chennai Super Kings, announced his retirement, which was big news in the world of cricket.
“204 games, 14 seasons, 11 playoffs, 8 finals, and 5 trophies. 6th tonight, hopefully. It’s been a long journey. The IPL final tonight will be my last match, I’ve made up my mind. It was a pleasure for me to compete in this fantastic tournament. I’d like to thank everyone. Just over an hour before the CSK vs. GT championship game, Rayudu tweeted, “No u turn.”
Rayudu’s tweet was a joke on himself because he had previously announced his IPL retirement while playing for CSK last year.
In a tweet, the 37-year-old stated, “I am happy to announce that this will be by last IPL. Playing it and being a part of two outstanding teams for 13 years has been a wonderful experience for me.
