India’s bowling all-rounder Shardul Thakur has been on a roll ever since the Brisbane Test during the 2020-21 Border Gavaskar Trophy. After breaking down during his debut Test against West Indies, Thakur was included in India’s squad for the 4th Test against Australia at Brisbane where Shardul Thakur picked up 7 wickets and scored a match-changing knock of 67 runs off 115 deliveries.

In the follow-up, Shardul Thakur was in terrific form during the Vijay Hazare Trophy as he was among the runs as well as wickets for the Mumbai side. Now during the ODI series against England, Shardul had bowled a match-changing spell during the first ODI which indeed pulled the match back in India’s favour as he dismissed Jonny Bairstow, Eoin Morgan and Jos Buttler.

Ben Stokes Checks Shardul Thakur’s Bat After Getting Hit For A Six

Today during the 3rd ODI, Shardul Thakur made a major contribution with the bat as he scored a pivotal 30 run knock off 21 deliveries which included 3 sixes, one of which was off the bowling of Ben Stokes which caught up an interesting reaction on the English all-rounder.

It happened during the 47th over of the innings when Shardul Thakur charged down the track to whack Ben Stokes for a six over long-off which led to Ben Stokes checking Shardul Thakur’s bat. In both Shardul Thakur and Ben Stokes had a laugh as Stokes walked back to the bowling mark.

Talking about the 3rd ODI, England won the toss and elected to bowl first after which India put up 329 at the end of 50 overs all thanks to fifties from Rishabh Pant, Hardik Pandya and Shikhar Dhawan. In the follow-up, England are currently 119/4 at the end of 19 overs.
