Popular food ordering and delivery app Swiggy got a lot of hate from all Rohit Sharma fans after their distasteful tweet targeted at the cricketer. Swiggy thought they were displaying a good sense of humour but it backfired as fans on Twitter started trending #BoycottSwiggy. A lot of times Rohit’s fitness is criticised on social media but when Swiggy took a jibe at him when a fan-edited his photo near a vada paav stall things got ugly.

Swiggy actual quoted the tweet and wrote “Haters will say it’s photoshopped!”. Post that the popular food app faced a lot of agitation from all Rohit fans who were surprised with the way how Swiggy can disrespect a prominent team India cricketer. Agendas against a cricketer is normal on Twitter but when a well-known brand such as Swiggy does it things will obviously turn ugly.

“A special message to the Hitman’s fans We reposted a fan’s tweet in good humour. While the image was not created by us, we do admit it could’ve been worded better. It was not meant to offend anyone in the least. Needless to say, we’re always with the Paltan”, Swiggy clarified on Twitter.

Swiggy quickly deleted the offensive tweet but by then the damage had been done then as angry Rohit Sharma fans themselves started an agenda against Swiggy on the popular micro-blogging app. Here are some of the reactions as several fans asked Swiggy to stop disrespecting India’s match-winner while others encouraged everyone to uninstall the Swiggy app from their mobile phones.
