The 13th edition of the Indian Premier League is round the corner and the buzz is in the fifth gear. Already the teams have begun their training in a bid to gear for the prominent league. Ahead of the start of IPL 2020, former Australia spinner Brad Hogg has showered praise on Delhi Capitals youngster Prithvi Shaw.

The young Delhi side will be a force to reckon in this year’s IPL. A good blend of youth and experience bodes well for the Capitals as the franchise aims to better their performance from last season. They finished third in the points table and qualified for the playoffs before bowing out.

Brag Hogg heaps praise on Prithvi Shaw

Although they have received a jolt with Jason Roy pulling out of IPL 2020, there is enough firepower in the Delhi tank. One such is the next big thing in Indian cricket; Prithvi Shaw. Brad Hogg recently heaped praise on him calling Prithvi a mixture of Sachin Tendulkar and Brian Lara.

“The standout for the Delhi Capitals I think is going to be Prithvi Shaw. I think it is time for him to make runs and show the world how good he actually is because he is a talent. I would say he is a bit like Brian Lara and Sachin Tendulkar,” Hogg said.

Furthermore, Brad Hogg is also confident that Delhi Capitals will be a different side this year. He feels the acquisition of veteran spinner Ravichandran Ashwin augurs well and will benefit the side. Also, with the presence of hard-hitters in the ranks, the Capitals can light up the stage.

“The Delhi Capitals’ top six looks very formidable, a mixture of experience with youngsters. They have got Dhawan at the top, along with Prithvi Shaw, Pant and Iyer. So, they are going to make plenty of runs,” Hogg said on his YouTube channel.

“The acquisition of Ashwin is an absolute beauty, quality leadership, good spinner, also can handle the bat in the middle overs. That adds a little bit of depth to their batting and spin department, he concluded.
