Virat Kohli deserves all the praises as he is a world class player says Shoaib Akhtar.

Team India skipper Virat Kohli recently revealed that he and his wife Anushka Sharma are expecting the birth of their first child in January. Since then, he has received a lot of wishes and the news has taken the internet by storm. However, one question is also floating around whether Kohli will travel with the squad for the Australia series in January?

Meanwhile, India will take on Australia in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy later this year. The hype has been on an all-time high after India defeated the home side in 2018-19. However, things will be a lot difficult this time around with Steve Smith and David Warner back in the mix.

Will Virat Kohli tour Australia later this year?

As the speculations continue rife, Virat Kohli’s participation in the series has been the most debated topic in the last couple of days. But a BCCI official has put an end to all speculations stating that Kohli will travel with the squad and play the entire series.

“He’s available for the tour, at least he has not said anything to the contrary,” said a BCCI official, who asked to remain anonymous, as quoted by The Times of India.

“Now, if he has to come back in the middle of the tour, he has not said anything about that either. Of course, there’s plenty of time before the series,” he added.

Virat Kohli will be an important talisman during that series as India look to defend their title. The ever-consistent run-scorer boasts a humongous record on Australia soil scoring 1274 runs including six centuries. Kohli will aim to keep up the good run and lead India’s flag high in the ongoing ICC World Test Championship.

The four-match series will start from December 3 and both teams have also agreed to play a day-night Test. It is likely to be an enthralling series as fans are eagerly for the ball to roll.
