Former Australian and KKR pacer Brett Lee in an Instagram session with his fans said that he is predicting big things from the Mumbai Indians skipper in IPL 2020. MI are the defending champions of the title and under Rohit Sharma who has led them to four of them in the last seven years. Lee said that this might be a big season for Rohit Sharma in the IPL.

Lee answered I’m predicting big things for Rohit Sharma this IPL”, to a question from one of his fans who asked him to pick the world’s most dangerous batsmen at the moment.

Speaking to Star Sports’ Cricket Connected, Lee said that it is important for Rohit Sharma to score runs for his side. “The most important thing for Rohit Sharma is firstly to score runs for Mumbai Indians. He has got to be a good leader but I think being a good leader is a combination of leading from the front in terms of scoring runs and hopefully the rest of the team will take care of itself” Lee said.

Rohit Sharma is the third-highest run-scorer in the IPL with 4898 runs in 188 matches at an average of 31.60. He also has 194 sixes to his name in the tournament.

Rohit also confirmed that he will open the innings in a virtual press conference to the Hindustan Times.

“I think I opened the entire tournament last year and will continue to do that even in this year”, Rohit answered to a question from an HT reporter.

Rohit Sharma further said they will have to adjust to the given conditions in the UAE, which is going to be tough for the players.

“I think mentally it is about going out there and understanding what the pitch is doing, and based on that, you need to plan your game – whether it is your batting or bowling. So we have had a good chat around the group about that,” said Rohit.
