Former Indian cricketer Virender Sehwag found himself in the middle of a controversy after his on-air remarks on Virat Kohli didn’t go well with fans on Day 3 of the ongoing Edgbaston Test against England. Sehwag’s, who was commentating on the match, courted some fresh controversy with his comments after England wicketkeeper-batter Stuart Broad’s dismissal.
An animated Kohli was in a celebratory mood when Indian bowlers picked up another wicket to thwart England’s bid of staging a late comeback in the series decider. During his Hindi commentary stint, Sehwag was asked to drop a comment on Kohli’s dance moves by his fellow commentator.
Virender Sehwag left Kohli fans bemused with his tongue-in-cheek comment. It instantly garnered attention and was heavily criticised on social media.

Sehwag used a slur thatās offensive. Itās not about who he said it to, itās that the word he used is derogatory to a community that deserves just as much respect and fair treatment in society as any Kohli does. See the bigger picture and donāt protect him because heās a legend https://t.co/bauvXiLE58

Did V Sehwag just said 'Dekhiye Virat Kohli kaise naach rhe hai wicket ke baad like a chamiya'? And then realized he fucked up and covered it with praising Kohli? Commentators should have atleast some control in their mouth when the core job of them is to speak. #ENGvIND

India secure crucial lead at the end of Day 3
The day started with Jonny Bairstow struggling to put bat on ball but an altercation with Virat Kohli spurred him on and he went berserk, going from 16 off 64 to 100 off 119. There was support from skipper Ben Stokes and Sam Billings but India kept chipping away at the wickets and managed to get a big lead of 132.
Shubman Gill went in the first over in the second innings but Cheteshwar Pujara held one end up, added handy partnerships with everyone and stretched the lead. Rishabh Pant also showed great determination after his superlative hundred in the first innings.
At the end of day 3, India lead by 257 runs with Pujara (50) and Pant (36) in the middle. The tourists will look at to stretch the lead as much as possible to put England out of the contest.
