Star India batter Virat Kohli and England’s man in form Jonny Bairstow had a heated exchange of words today (Sunday, July 3), at Edgbaston. The two batters were involved in the banter for more than a minute. The chat got more furious that the umpires had to come forward, and part the batters’ ways apart.

It was the first session of Day 3 and Bairstow was on the crease with the English skipper Ben Stokes, when the banter took place. Kohli, meanwhile, was fielding in the first slip. Seeing the banter, skipper Stokes too came forward to reconcile with Kohli after the incident.

Although, it was all good until yesterday (July 2) evening, between the IPL mates, as both were seen having a casual conversation, with Kohli’s hands on Bairstow’s shoulders.

The video of the whole matter has been posted by the Sky Sports Network, via their official social media handle. The video has gone viral and the Indian fans particularly, are glad to see their ‘old Kohli’ back.

India at the Top on Day 3

Besides, Jasprit Bumrah-led Indian side is currently ahead in the game. Rishabh Pant and Ravindra Jadeja’s exceptional hundreds on Day 1 and Day 2 respectively, made it India’s day. Also, skipper Bumrah too didn’t spare the chance as the 28-year-old smashed Stuart Broad’s over for 35 runs. India went into the pavilion with a huge total of 416 runs.

In reply, England kept losing wickets in regular intervals, as Bumrah again captured three batters. England ended Day 2 at a score of 84 for 5. Mohammed Shami and Mohammed Siraj picked up a wicket each.

England now has crossed the 150-mark with Bairstow’s fifty and Stokes back in the dugout off Shardul Thakur’s decent delivery.
