Chennai Super Kings are one of the most successful teams in the history of Indian Premier League. The presence of experienced players and sticking to the core have proved to be pivotal for the MS Dhoni-led side. As they prepare for IPL 2020, Suresh Raina said Chennai have 11 skippers in their side with MS Dhoni on top guiding everyone.

The Super Kings have reached the finals in eight seasons out of the ten they have participated. This is the most by any team in the league. Also, they have three titles to their name – second in the list after Mumbai Indians’ four.

In a recent interview with Cricbuzz, Suresh Raina has laid down the importance of having Faf du Plessis, Dwayne Bravo. While MS Dhoni remains synonyms to CSK; Raina believes these players have played keep role to build Chennai’s legacy.

“In our team, everyone is the captain, with Bravo leading the side, Faf is there, Ashwin led the side, MS is there forever. Then we have myself, I have led India and in IPL also. I think we have eleven captains but we have a king sitting on the top who knows how to see the bigger picture from behind the stumps,” Raina told Harsha Bhogle on Cricibuzz.

“So it’s a great experience around the franchise and on top that we have the captain of South Africa (Faf du Plessis), Fleming, who was the best captain how he led New Zealand. Michael Hussey, Matthew Hayden, he dominated the IPL, brought in his mongoose bat. He gave a lot of pep talk to the youngsters,” Raina added.

Meanwhile, Suresh Raina followed the footsteps of MS Dhoni announcing his international retirement on August 15 (Saturday). Currently, he is in Chennai gearing up for IPL 2020. He along with the other teammates will fly to the UAE to participate in IPL on August 21. The Super Kings will look to lift their fourth title this time around.
