Chennai Super Kings (CSK) is one of the most successful franchises in the Indian Premier League. They have won three titles and reached the playoff in all the seasons they have participated. Faf du Plessis recently revealing the reason for CSK’s success said that they have a number of thinking cricketers in their ranks.

Under the leadership of MS Dhoni, the Super Kings have produced excellent cricket over the years. Although they didn’ participate in two seasons in 2016-17 but came back with a bang in 2018. Defying all the odds, they won the title beating Sunrisers Hyderabad by eight wickets.

CSK has a lot of thinkers in the side – Faf du Plessis

Divulging on the details of their consistency, Faf du Plessis believes CSK’s dressing room has quite a few thinkers. One of them is the legendary MS Dhoni who leads the team from the front.

“With Chennai, my experience there has been that of a calm dressing room. There are a lot of thinking cricketers in the dressing room,” du Plessis said during an Instagram session with former Zimbabwe pacer Pommie Mbangwa.

Faf du Plessis has been an integral part of the Chennai Super Kings for quite a few years now. So far, he has played 71 matches amassing 1853 runs at a strike rate of over 120 including 12 fifties.

The former South African skipper admitted that there is a sense that someone will take them over the ropes from any situation. CSK will hope to continue their job in the upcoming seasons as well.

“There is a confidence in the CSK dressing room that someone will pull it through for us, and on each occasion, it is someone different. The guys share the load in winning games, it is a confidence thing by doing it again and again,” du Plessis added.
