Cricket Australia confirms Bans stand for suspended players

The sandpaper gate issue has created a major impact on the Australian side. In the absence of Smith and Warner, the team isn”t able to create an impact on the overseas tours. Even the home tours yielded a lot of negative results as the instability still prevails in the depleted side.

The bans on the trio Smith, Warner and Bancroft are yet to remain and Cricket Australia has confirmed that it is not going to lessen the quantum of punishment imposed on the players. A lot of experts from Australia wanted them to be a part of the Indian series as they lost the recently concluded matches against Pakistan and Proteas. However, Ian Chappell and several other legends said that they deserve the bans.

In a recent statement released by Cricket Australia, its interim chief Eddings mentioned: “The Cricket Australia Board has carefully considered all elements of the ACA submission and has determined that it is not appropriate to make any changes to the sanctions handed down to the three players.”

The appeal was earlier made by Australian Cricketers Association so as to boost their quality of domestic cricket. With CA turning down their appeal, things are now a bit difficult for the trio.

Smith and Warner already represented the Global T20 at Canada and CPL. Warner also received a contract from BPL a few weeks back. Though they are a part of club games at Sydney, their absence has certainly left the side in tatters and their performance at an international stage reflects the same.
