The South African team will to Sri Lanka for a limited-overs series later this year. They will play three one-day internationals and three T20Is starting from September 2 to September 14. All the matches will take place at the R. Premadasa Stadium in Colombo.

The Cricket South Africa board took to their social media account to confirm the news. They wrote, “CONFIRMED The #Proteas will travel to Sri Lanka for 3 ODIs and 3 T20Is from 2-14 September. All matches will be played at the Premadasa in Colombo #SRIvSA #ThatsOurGame.”

The series was originally scheduled to be played in June 2020. But owing to the covid-19 pandemic the Sri Lankan Cricket Board and Cricket South Africa jointly took the decision to postpone the tour indefinitely.

Sri Lanka vs South Africa series is now all set to go ahead. It will serve as a preparation for the South African team ahead of the ICC T20 World, which will be played in the United Arab Emirates in October later this year.

“Sri Lanka Cricket wishes to announce the arrival of the National Team of South Africa to play a white-ball series during September 2021. The tour will consist of a 03 Match ODI and a 03 match T20I series. The tour will take place under a Bio-Bubble Environment, and the matches will be played at the RPICS, Colombo,” said Sri Lanka Cricket in a statement.
